(c) any conduct that is rude or abusive to the Promoter, or anyone associated with them,
your Competition entry(ies) will be declared void, no refunds will be given and you may be prevented from participating in any future Competitions operated by the Promoter.
5. How the Competition Works
5.1 The Competition is structured in two phases:
(a) Group Stage; then
(b) Knockout Stage.
5.2 You will be eliminated on a round-by-round basis based on the accuracy of your selections.
Group Stage (48 teams)
5.3 The World Cup group stage consists of 12 groups (A to L) of four teams (each a "Group" and together the "Groups"), playing three rounds of fixtures (the "Rounds").
5.4 For each Round within each Group, you will select one team which you believe will win its fixture.
5.5 The same team may not be selected more than once within the same Group.
5.6 You will have one "Wildcard" per Group (12 in total), which will allow progression regardless of whether the selected team wins or draws.
5.7 A loss by a selected team results in your elimination from the Competition, even if a Wildcard has been selected.
5.8 Group stage selections must be submitted:
(a) for Digital Paid Entrants: at least 15 minutes before the relevant kick-off of the relevant fixtures - changes can be made to selections at any time prior to this deadline; and
(b) for Free Postal Entrants: by letter or postcard in accordance with clause 3.6(f)-3.6(j) - changes can be made to selections by sending in a further letter or postcard in accordance with clause 3.6(f) specifying your full name, Registered Email Address and required selection change(s), provided such letter or postcard is received by the Promoter at least 72 hours before the kick-off of the first fixture in the specific Group Round to which the change relates (e.g., a change to a Group A Round 2 selection must be received at least 72 hours before the earlier of the two Group A Round 2 fixtures).
5.9 Failure to submit a selection by the deadline results in elimination from the Round.
Knockout Stage (32 teams to Final of World Cup)
5.10 If you survive the Group stage, you will progress to the knockout rounds (being the Round of 32, Round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and Final) (each a "Knockout Round" and together the "Knockout Stage").
5.11 For each Knockout Round, you will select one team that you think will progress to the next Knockout Round.
5.12 No Wildcards apply in the Knockout Stage.
5.13 For the avoidance of doubt, all teams that qualify for the Knockout Stage become available for selection at the start of the Knockout Stage, regardless of whether or how often those teams were selected by you during the Group Stage.
5.14 A team may only be selected once across the entire Knockout Stage.
5.15 If you cannot make a valid selection due to prior team usage, you will be eliminated, subject to clause 5.18.
5.16 For the avoidance of doubt, a playoff game between a third and fourth place team shall not be part of the Competition.
5.17 Knockout Stage selections must be submitted:
(a) for Digital Paid Entrants: at least 15 minutes before the kick-off of the first fixture in each Knockout Round - changes can be made to selections at any time prior to this deadline;
(b) for Free Postal Entrants: by email to picks@wynner.games from their Registered Email Address, at least 4 hours before the kick-off of the first fixture in each Knockout Round - changes can be made to selections by sending a further email specifying your required selection change(s), provided such email is received by the Promoter prior to this deadline.
Exceptional Final Scenario
5.18 If, at the start of the World Cup final (the "Final"), all remaining active players have already used both finalist teams in earlier Knockout Rounds and are therefore unable to make a valid team selection for the Final, the team-reuse restriction in clause 5.14 shall be lifted for the Final only and all remaining active players will be permitted to select either finalist team. Where one or more remaining active players are able to make a valid team selection for the Final, the team-reuse restriction shall not be lifted, and any player who is unable to make a valid team selection as a result of prior team usage will be eliminated in accordance with these Terms. All affected players will be notified by email where the team-reuse restriction is lifted.
6. Determining the Winner
General
6.1 Players are eliminated from the Competition on a stage-by-stage basis in accordance with this clause 6.
6.2 A player who is eliminated at any stage takes no further part in the Competition and is not eligible to win the prize. Any selections submitted by an eliminated player for future rounds are disregarded and have no effect on the outcome of the Competition.
6.3 Any player who fails to submit a required selection by the applicable deadline is automatically eliminated.
6.4 The winner will be the person (or persons) notified as being the winner of the Competition by the Promoter via email (the "Winner").
Group Stage Settlement
6.5 During the Group stage, fixtures are assessed in pairings, being the two fixtures from the same Group and the same Round.
6.6 A Group stage pairing is deemed to have settled once both fixtures in that pairing have concluded.
6.7 Following settlement of a Group stage pairing:
(a) a player whose selected team won its fixture will remain active;
(b) where a Wildcard was validly applied, a player whose selected team won or drew will remain active;
(c) any player whose selected team lost its fixture (including where a Wildcard was applied) is eliminated.
6.8 Eliminations in the Group stage are only applied once the entire pairing has settled, and no player is shown as eliminated before that point.
Knockout Stage
6.9 In the Knockout Stage, eliminations are applied on a round-by-round basis.
6.10 A Knockout Round is deemed to have settled once all fixtures within that round have concluded.
6.11 Following settlement of a Knockout Round:
(a) a player whose selected team progressed remains active;
(b) a player whose selected team did not progress is eliminated;
(c) any player who failed to submit a valid selection before the deadline is eliminated.
6.12 Eliminations are not applied incrementally during a Knockout Round and are only determined once all fixtures in that round have completed.
Sole Survivor
6.13 If, at any point during the Competition, only one player remains active, that player is immediately declared the sole Winner and the Competition ends without the need to complete any further rounds.
Mass Exit and Carry-Forward Rule
6.14 The mass exit and carry-forward rule applies in all rounds except the Final.
6.15 Where, in any round (other than the Final), more than one player remained active at the start of that round and either:
(a) all remaining active players who submitted a selection in that round made incorrect selections; or
(b) no remaining active player submitted a selection in that round,
no player who submitted a selection in that round shall be eliminated as a result of that round and all such players shall be carried forward to the next round.
6.16 In the Group stage, the mass exit rule is assessed at the pairing level.
6.17 In the Knockout Stage, the mass exit rule is assessed at the round level.
6.18 The mass exit rule may occur multiple times during the Competition.
6.19 The mass exit rule does not apply to the Final. Where all remaining players are eliminated in the Final, the tiebreaker applies in accordance with clause 6.22 onwards.
The Final and Tiebreaker
6.20 The Final operates differently from earlier rounds. All players who reach the Final must submit:
(a) a team selection; and
(b) a tiebreaker prediction consisting of: (i) the minute of the first goal scored in the Final; or (ii) "Penalties".
6.21 The platform does not permit submission of one without the other.
6.22 The tiebreaker is used only in the following scenarios in connection with the Final and is not used in any other round:
Scenario A: Final Decider
6.23 If more than one player remains active following the conclusion of the Final (being players who correctly predicted the winning team), the tiebreaker is used to determine the Winner.
6.24 The player whose tiebreaker prediction is closest to the actual minute of the first goal scored in the Final is declared the Winner.
6.25 If two or more players are equally close, the prize is divided equally between them.
Scenario B: Last Standing Reinstatement
6.26 If all remaining players are eliminated in the Final for any reason, including because all remaining players submitted incorrect selections for the Final or because one or more players failed to submit a selection, the tiebreaker is used to reinstate a Winner, subject to the hierarchy below.
6.27 Priority is given to players who actively submitted a team selection for the Final but selected the losing team. The tiebreaker is run exclusively between those players.
6.28 Any player who failed to submit a team selection for the Final is eliminated outright and does not enter the tiebreaker, regardless of whether they attempted to submit a tiebreaker prediction.
6.29 Where all remaining players were unable to submit a valid team selection because they had already used both finalist teams in earlier knockout rounds, the team-reuse restriction in clause 5.14 is lifted for the Final only. All affected players are notified and permitted to select either finalist team.
6.30 If all remaining players failed to submit any team selection for the Final, the prize is divided equally between all players who were active at the start of the Final round.
6.31 For the purposes of the tiebreaker:
(a) first-half stoppage time is recorded as minute 45;
(b) second-half stoppage time is recorded as minute 90;
(c) first-period extra time stoppage is recorded as minute 105; and
(d) second-period extra time stoppage is recorded as minute 120.
6.32 All other goals are recorded as the actual minute displayed on the match clock (1-120).
6.33 Penalty shoot-out goals are categorised separately, and players may select "Penalties" as their tiebreaker prediction.
7. The Prize
7.1 The prize is a cash prize of £5,000.
7.2 If there is more than one Winner, the prize is divided equally amongst the Winners.
7.3 The Promoter reserves the right in exceptional circumstances to increase the value of the prize during the game. Prizes are non-transferrable.
8. Prize Payment

If you cannot be contacted or are not available, or have not claimed your prize within 14 days, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next placed player or players in accordance with clause 6.
8.6 The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
9. Limitation of Liability
9.1 The Promoter does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the platform.
9.2 The Promoter is not responsible for losses arising from technical failures, data delays or third-party data errors, except where caused by its negligence.
9.3 Match results and settlement are determined using official data supplied by a third-party licensed sports data provider. The Promoter's determination is final.
9.4 Nothing limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, or liability to the extent it cannot be limited by law.
9.5 Subject to clause 9.4, the Promoter's maximum liability to you in relation to any one incident or a connected series of incidents, whether for breach of contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, will be limited as follows:
(a) where our liability relates to your participation in the Competition and you have won a prize, it will be limited to the cash value of the prize;
(b) where our liability arises from the loss or deletion of your entry, a failure to process your entry, or a technical issue, fault, or other system-related failure which prevents your entry from being successfully registered or processed in the Competition, then your sole remedy shall be a replacement entry into another competition organised by the Promoter; and
(c) in all other circumstances, £10 (ten pounds).
10. Data Protection
10.1 By entering into the Competition, you acknowledge that the Promoter processes your personal data in accordance with its privacy policy, available at: https://www.wynner.games/privacy (the "Privacy Policy").

12.4 Winner(s) who do not wish to be identified publicly may notify the Promoter in writing within 7 days of being notified of their win. In such circumstances, the Promoter will respect that request in all publicity and marketing communications, except where disclosure is required by law or regulation.
Optional Promotion
12.5 As a discretionary gesture, Winners who agree to participate in a short promotional photo or video may be offered an additional reward of up to £250. 12.7 Participation in any such promotional activity is entirely optional, has no bearing on the award of the prize, and the Promoter is under no obligation to make such an offer in any particular case.

14.2 The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so. In the event we need to void or cancel the Competition without selecting a Winner, we will provide a refund of all entry fees paid by Digital Paid Entrants.
